I will not even attempt to delve into the mind of people who are willing to risk their lives in the service of something bigger than them. I will never understand what it means to serve. So let’s examine “Friendly Fire,” our characters and the case of the week. Chicago Justice is just another piece in an already huge puzzle. But Chicago Justice is not Suits, and it’s not even JAG, though it’s more like the later than the former. Suits has, after all, been on the air for six seasons and people don’t seem to be tired of that. I beg to differ, of course, and so does TV. Lawyers are boring – some people on Twitter were saying before this show even aired. This episode had a lot of nuances, there was the military angle, the respect that Jefferies and really, anyone else who has ever served, has for the institution, and then there was Stone and his team, trying to put a killer behind bars, both sides trying to do what, in their minds, was the right thing, and yet their perceptions clearly at odds. That’s why Dick Wolfe and co introduced Chicago Justice in the first place. There are two sides to every story, and we very often get to hear the other side, or at least the other side’s attempts at defense in Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D or even Chicago Med. One which America still waits on the fifth Tillman investigation.Some cases are open and shut. Bryan a very sympathetic writer who finally helps them to find a simple peace. Director David Greene and writer Courtlandt Bryan provide's amply foundation for the Mullen's desperate plea for understanding and final resolution. Unfortunately, the military replays their trust by first pretending to not knowing the details of their son's death and then later trying to destroy their credibility by not answering their inquisitive questions, spying on them, tapping their phones and finally trying to discredit them as Americans and their tireless efforts to learn the real story behind their son's death. Gene Mullen (Ned Beatty and Carol Burnett, Great acting.) play an Iowa couple who proudly see their son Michael march off to war. However, the U.S Army dishonored his sacrifice and fabricated his death. The most famous casualty of friendly fire (accidently killing our own soldiers) was Pat Tillman a courageous man who gave up a lucrative football career to serve his country. This movie is called " Friendly Fire " a difficult misnomer if ever there was one. It is difficult then to discover that the very people who are entrusted with telling the truth of the fallen have decided to lie to Americans. Citizens, ranging from school Children to civic patriots who erect statues and monuments to those great men have come to believe in their heroes. In it's archives are stories of great courage and heroism. The Unites States Army has a history dating back to 1776.
